About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Cascais, Cafe Buzios offers an inviting retreat for anyone looking to savor authentic Portuguese cafe culture. This charming cafe, located on Av. Dr. Manuel Ricardo Espirito Santo Silva, is a beloved spot where locals and visitors alike gather to enjoy not just coffee, but a genuine taste of Portugal’s culinary delights.

The menu boasts irresistible staples like the Bife A Casa—a succulent house-style steak cooked to perfection—and the wonderfully satisfying Cafe Y Sandwich Jamon Y Queso, a classic ham and cheese treat that pairs beautifully with their rich, aromatic coffees. If you’re in the mood for something lighter yet delightfully flavorful, the Folhado de Queijo de Cabra Com Salada offers a crisp, flaky pastry filled with creamy goat cheese, accompanied by a fresh salad that creates a perfect balance of textures and taste. For those wanting a bold and indulgent flavor profile, the Bife Com Molho de Queijo Roquefort delivers tender beef enhanced by a luscious Roquefort cheese sauce, evoking a comforting yet sophisticated bite.

What truly sets Cafe Buzios apart is its warm, welcoming atmosphere. Customers repeatedly mention the friendly service and the genuine hospitality that makes every visit feel like coming home. As one patron, Mayju Shaikh, beautifully puts it, the staff’s constant smiles and attentive care make it easy to relax, watch the world go by, or lose yourself in a good book—all while enjoying mouthwatering food and expertly brewed coffee. The setting strikes a delightful balance between casual and cozy, making it ideal for a light lunch, a coffee break, or a leisurely snack paired with one of their famed Portuguese pastries that literally melt in your mouth.

The cafe’s charm is matched by its affordability, a quality emphasized by many regular visitors. Nikki Rebelo praises the reasonable prices alongside delicious food, noting that what began as a simple coffee outing turned into a memorable light lunch experience. Even with a minor hiccup like a language barrier, guests such as Adrien Padayachee find the place’s welcoming vibe and fantastic offerings more than make up for it—especially as the cafe stays open six days a week until 8pm, providing plenty of opportunities to indulge.

One practical note for visitors: Cafe Buzios operates on a cash-only basis, but an ATM conveniently nearby ensures paying is never a hassle. John Soares highlights this while also applauding the great value and attentive service that keep him coming back.

Whether you’re craving a robust coffee, authentic Portuguese dishes, or simply a friendly space to unwind, Cafe Buzios is a Cascais gem that delivers on all fronts. Its appeal lies not only in what’s on your plate but in the heartfelt care and local charm that make every visit feel so special. For those seeking a genuine taste of Cascais’ culinary and cultural spirit, Cafe Buzios is an absolute must-visit.

My husband and I went for coffee and ended up eating a light lunch. I had a bitoque and a cappuccino, and my husband had a resole, a croquette and coffee. We shared a sweet pastry after. The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly. The cost was very reasonable as well. I will definitely be going there again. Thank you Cafe Buzios!

Our local. Got off to a rough start, due to the language barrier. But that soon sorted itself out. Great coffee, food and Portuguese pastries. Open 6 days a week till 8pm.

Great food and service. Reasonably priced. Only downside is it's cash only but there is an ATM round the corner

Buzio’s is our favourite place in The Cascais area. Homemade authentic Portuguese dishes that are mouthwatering, rich coffee, pastries that melt in your mouth and of course, cold beers. But this isn’t even the best part- the people working at Buzios are always smiling and make you feel at home. You can sit, watch the world go by or read a book and just relax. love Buzios
